We Need Tourists! What Is Undertourism?

There are some places that tourists really love for example, Barcelona in Spain, Venice in Italy and Tokyo in Japan. Many tourists visit these cities every year, and they can be very busy. However, people living in these places often say they have problems because there are so many tourists. This is called overtourism when too many people visit.

But there is also something called undertourism. This means that not enough tourists are visiting a place. This can also be difficult for people living there, but for different reasons. Tourists spend money when they travel. This is good for hotels, restaurants and cafes, and this money can help to improve the lives of people living in the area.

Sometimes, an area may be suffering from undertourism after a natural disaster. Tourist money can help the area to rebuild. Visiting a city that is suffering from undertourism can also be very good for tourists. That's because these places aren't very busy. They may also be cheaper.

In some countries, the bigger cities suffer from overtourism and the smaller ones suffer from undertourism. For example, Tokyo is very busy. But some of the country's smaller towns are not busy at all. These are good places to visit because they're quiet and they're really beautiful!

1. Where would you like to go? What’s something you would like to do there?

2. Which area do you prefer? Busy or less crowded?

3. Please tell us about your best trip.

Session 2

Where are you living at the moment? Studio apartment? Dormitory?

2. Are you a homebody? What do you usually do at your place?

3. Living alone or with someone else, which do you like?

How to Make Your Home Feel Brand New

Moving to a new home can be very expensive. But maybe you don't need to move what if you can make the home you have now feel brand new? You can do that by making some very small changes. And the website Woman and Home has made a list of some ideas.

One idea is to move furniture to a different room or to a different place in the same room. You don't need to make big changes you could just move a lamp or a chair, for example. Or, you could just change the things on your shelves to make a room look different.

The website also says you could get new artwork, or move artwork you already have to a different part of your home. Designer Sophie Clemson adds that you could also think about making your own artwork for the walls. If you don't have any ideas for artwork, you could just paint some furniture, or paint the wall a new color. Using a "happy" color could give your place a nice, new feeling!

But there's something that's even easier to do clean! Home website The Spruce says that cleaning your walls can make your home feel new. It can also help to clean your lights, or maybe get new ones.

Many of these ideas are very cheap and easy, and they could help you to feel happier in your home!

1. Do you like to clean your room?

2. Do you have any art or photo on your walls?

3. When was the last time you bought new furniture?

Before this meeting, I have a class that is held at the CEIT building(516). I wonder if the class will finish on time or not. If the class finishes late, I could be a little late to meeting..
